An independent forum for the people who keep Nigeria's power flowing.
NEEF is a professional community dedicated to knowledge exchange, capacity building, industry collaboration and the advancement of Nigeria's electricity sector.
A credible platform for practical solutions.
The Nigerian Electricity Experts Forum (NEEF) brings together engineers, academics, utility professionals, regulators, policymakers, developers, consultants, investors, manufacturers, contractors and other stakeholders across the electricity value chain.
Our goal is to create a credible platform where professionals can share knowledge, strengthen local capacity, exchange practical experience, foster collaboration and contribute constructively to solutions for the sector's challenges.
NEEF began as a community on LinkedIn and now runs working groups and a guidelines program that turn discussion into published, usable work.
To connect expertise across Nigeria's electricity value chain, build local capacity, and turn practical knowledge into solutions the sector can use.
A reliable, safe and financially sustainable electricity sector built on Nigerian expertise and international best practice.
From open discussion to published guidance.
Each stage feeds the next.
The open forum
Members raise field problems and share experience through NEEF's recurring formats on LinkedIn.
Working groups
Topics that need sustained work get a working group with a defined scope, members and deliverables.
The Guidelines Program
Working groups draft Nigeria-specific guides benchmarked against international standards, with input from utilities.
Review
Drafts are reviewed by practitioners outside the drafting group before publication.
Publication and briefings
Final guides, explainers and policy briefings are published in the Knowledge Hub and shared with sector institutions.
Non-affiliated, by design.
NEEF is not affiliated with any company, government agency, utility or political organisation. It does not sell products, endorse vendors or represent the commercial interests of its members.
When working groups engage equipment or solution providers, it is for technology assessment only, never procurement or endorsement. Views expressed by individual members are their own.
NEEF is convener-led. A convener coordinates the forum and its working groups, and contributions are credited to the forum and its working groups.
How we work.
Solutions over grievance
We describe problems precisely so they can be fixed, then put our energy into the fix.
Evidence first
Claims are backed by data, standards or field experience, and risk indicators are not presented as proven causes.
Nigerian context, global benchmarks
We start from IEEE, IEC, EPRI and CEATI work and adapt it to Nigerian networks, institutions and budgets.
Independence
NEEF is not affiliated with any company, agency or political body. Vendor engagement is for technology assessment only.
Practitioner-led
The people who operate, design and regulate the system shape what NEEF publishes.
Open and respectful
Disagreement is welcome when it is technical, specific and courteous.
